How to improve the service life of elbows in pneumatic conveying

Wear and tearpneumatic tube conveyor In the middle, materials (or objects) need to move relative to the feeding pipe, so the wear of the feeding pipe is almost impossible to completely prevent. In actual production, various measures are often taken to find the best conveying method to reduce wear and tear.

As for the conveying method, the wear of the conveying pipe in pressure pneumatic conveying is relatively light, one of the reasons being that the conveying airflow velocity is relatively small, about 10m/s; The second reason is that the mixing ratio is relatively high. Compared to suction pneumatic conveying, the chance of contact between powder and granular materials and the conveying pipe wall is less, so the wear is lighter.

In suction pneumatic conveying, due to the high airflow velocity, usually 20-25m/s, and small mixing ratio, there are more opportunities for powder and granular materials to come into contact with the conveying pipe wall, resulting in heavy wear.

In short, regardless of the form of pneumatic conveying device, the wear of its conveying pipe (straight pipe, main bend pipe) cannot be completely prevented. Only after a comprehensive analysis can the most vulnerable parts be identified, and measures can be taken from all aspects to reduce wear or strengthen maintenance, and timely replacement of worn parts can be carried out.

CorrectPneumatic conveying elbowThere are three main ways to improve the service life

   1) By changing the material of the bend and improving its wear resistance, using suitable wear-resistant materials to make the bend can increase its lifespan by 10 times.

   2) Change the structure of the bent pipe to improve wear resistance.

   3) Air cushion bend can improve wear resistance.

The compression system is equipped with compressed air nozzles on the outer circumference of the bent pipe, and the suction system has holes on the outer circumference of the bent pipe to suck in air. After the airflow enters the bent pipe, it forms an air cushion, which can change the flow direction of the air and material, thereby reducing the wear of the bent pipe. But the pressure delivery system must pay attention to the magnitude of the intake pressure. Generally speaking, the pressure of the compressed air should be slightly higher than the pressure inside the pipeline, but if it is too high, it will prevent the movement of the air flow; If it is too small, it will not work. The magnitude of air pressure needs to be determined through experiments.
