How to reduce the wear of pneumatic conveying straight pipes

Inpneumatic conveyingEspecially in the transportation of materials with high grinding properties, the wear of pipelines is particularly important. Once the pipeline is severely worn, it may lead to powder running, low transportation efficiency, and even pipe blockage. Therefore, how to reduce pipeline wear has become an important research object for major manufacturers. Through multiple experiments, Shandong Juheng Environmental Protection Equipment Co., Ltd. has taken the following measures for pipeline wear:

Measures to reduce wear and improve lifespan of straight pipes:

1) Try to reduce the speed of the conveying airflow as much as possible. It is best to use low-pressure and low-speed conveying for pressure conveying pneumatic conveying devices; It is best to use low-speed high vacuum conveying for suction type pneumatic conveying devices.

2) The installation should be straight, and bending pipes should be minimized as much as possible without affecting the workshop process flow. Necessary bends should be placed near the starting point.

3) It is best to use elastic pads to cushion or lift the pipeline during installation, which can buffer the vibration of the pipeline, reduce wear and tear, and facilitate disassembly.

4) The joints of the pipeline must be concentric to avoid misalignment.

5) After a period of transportation, the pipeline should rotate a certain angle to ensure even wear and tear; For pressure fed pneumatic conveying systems, after a period of conveying, the front and rear pipelines should be swapped because the wear at the rear of the pipeline is more severe than at the front.

6) Adopting variable diameter pipelines. In a pressure fed pneumatic conveying system, as the velocity of the conveying airflow in the rear part of the conveying pipe increases, increasing the pipe diameter can appropriately reduce the velocity of some conveying airflow, thereby reducing wear and tear.

There are many methods for measuring pipeline wear, such as using a vernier caliper to measure the thickness difference of the pipe wall before and after transportation, weighing the weight difference of a section of pipeline before and after transportation, and using an ultrasonic thickness gauge to directly measure the thickness of the pipe wall before and after wear.
