Reasons for wear of pneumatic conveying rotary valve

One of the biggest issues in pneumatic conveying systems is the service life of rotary valves. Rotary airlock valve is one of the main equipment in the pneumatic conveying industry, and is usually used as the best device for measuring materials and forming pressure differential seals during material conveying. Although neither of these functions (metering or sealing) are perfect, considering all aspects, pneumatic conveying rotary valves are still the most ideal choice.

However, the pneumatic conveying rotary valve has a drawback. Its working principle is based on maintaining tight gaps, but over time, the gaps may be eroded. We often receive calls from customers asking how to check wear and whether they can check tolerances or seek our help in checking the tolerances of rotary valves. Technically speaking, a pair of gap gauges can be used for testing, which is the determining factor in deciding whether the valve needs to be replaced. The wear of the pneumatic conveying rotary valve is uneven, and one side may be worn while the other side is intact. This depends entirely on the materials being processed and the operating conditions. One of the main reasons for wear is air blowing, which basically means that the rotary valve cannot meet its designed feed rate and may need to be replaced quickly.
