Selection of dense phase pneumatic conveying system
Dense phase pneumatic conveying systemThe detection of gas holding and permeability of materials in pneumatic conveying is suitable for dilute phase conveying, but for dilute phase conveying, dense phase conveying may not be suitable. So, what kind of materials are suitable for dense phase conveying? Through expert research by Juheng, it has been found that the adaptability of materials in pneumatic conveying systems to dense phase pneumatic conveying is closely related to their permeability and gas holding capacity (or degassing and storage capacity).
What are the gas holding capacity and breathability of the material?
The permeability of a material is the speed at which gas passes through the material.
The gas holding capacity of the material is the gas holding capacity after inflation. The dense phase pneumatic conveying system is shown in Figure 1:

Figure 1
The gas holding capacity and permeability of materials in pneumatic conveying systems are important criteria for determining the form of dense phase pneumatic conveying
When the material has sufficient breathability, it can be used for plug flow dense phase transportation
If the material has sufficient air volume, it can be used for mobile bed dense phase pneumatic conveying
3. Can be used for dilute phase pneumatic conveying
The gas holding capacity and permeability of materials in general pneumatic conveying systems are related to the particle size of the materials:
1. Fine powder
Low breathability, high gas holding capacity, and easy fluidization. This material is suitable for floating fluidized bed dense phase pneumatic conveying.
2. Coarse powder
Has high permeability, low retention rate, and easy fluidization. This material is suitable for controllable plug flow dense phase pneumatic conveying.
3. Thin and lightweight materials
It has neither good breathability nor good air holding capacity, making it difficult to fluidized. Only applicable to dilute phase pneumatic conveying.
How to detect the breathability and gas holding capacity of granular materials?
Place the material into a cylindrical container and supply air to the material layer (layer height h) through the porous plate at the bottom of the container. The breathability of materials can be determined by the height of the material layer after ventilation. When the air pressure is at a stable value, the gas holding capacity of the material can be determined by the speed at which the material layer falls after cutting off the gas supply.
Therefore, when choosing between dense and dilute phases, it is particularly important to pay attention to the materials being transported,If you need pneumatic conveying equipment, please feel free to contact us,Shandong Juheng Environmental Protection Equipment Co., LtdProvide free on-site design solutions, free machine testing, one-year warranty for the entire machine, and lifetime maintenance services.
