Selection of Bentonite Pneumatic Conveying System
Choosing Bentonitepneumatic conveyingFirstly, it is necessary to understand the characteristics of the material. Bentonite has strong hygroscopicity and expansibility, and can adsorb 8-15 times its own volume of water. Its volume expansion can reach several times to 30 times; Has strong cation exchange capacity; Has a certain adsorption capacity for various gases, liquids, and organic substances, with a maximum adsorption capacity of up to 5 times its own weight; Acidic bleaching soil with surface activity (activated white soil, natural bleaching soil acidic white soil) can adsorb colored ions. Hardness of 1-2, density of 2-3g/cm3. Calcium based bentonite includes calcium sodium based and calcium magnesium based materials. Due to the strong adsorption capacity of bentonite, a closed conveying method is adopted to isolate it from the external environment and avoid adsorption expansion. Pneumatic conveying is the best choice.

The bentonite pneumatic conveying system can be designed in two ways: dense phase pneumatic conveying and dilute phase pneumatic conveying. The choice of method depends on the on-site situation.
The conveying distance of its dilute phase pneumatic conveying system is generally within 300 meters, and the speed of the material in the pipeline is relatively fast, with a conveying pressure within 196 kPa. In contrast, the conveying distance of its dense phase pneumatic conveying system can reach 1500 meters, with a conveying pressure within 500 kPa.
The dilute phase pneumatic conveying system is equipped with a Roots blower as the gas source device and a rotary feeder as the feeding device. The material is continuously conveyed into the pipeline through the impeller of the rotary feeder, and a high-speed airflow is used to transport the material to the receiving bin at the end. After dust removal by a dust collector, the gas is returned to the atmosphere.
The dense phase pneumatic conveying system uses an air compressor as the gas source equipment and a bin pump as the feeding equipment. The material is pressurized and fluidized by the bin pump, and then discharged through the discharge port. The discharged material is transported to the buffer bin and returned to the atmosphere through dust removal gas.
The selection of wind source equipment and feeding equipment can be determined based on the conveying volume, distance, and number of bends. If you need a pneumatic conveying system, you can contact us
