Glass tubes are relatively rare in specific pneumatic conveying designs, but they also have some advantages:

1. Good wear resistance and corrosion resistance

    The wear resistance of glass pipes is excellent. The pneumatic conveying elbow made of glass material has a service life more than 10 times that of other material elbows. Moreover, glass is not easily reactive with other chemical and corrosive materials, making it highly suitable for the transportation of corrosive materials in the chemical industry.

2. Low operating resistance, materials are not easy to stick and residue

    The inner wall of the glass pipeline is exceptionally smooth, with minimal conveying resistance and pressure loss, which has great advantages for pneumatic conveying of materials and can greatly reduce conveying energy consumption. In addition, due to the extremely low operating resistance of glass pipes, materials are not easily trapped or adhered inside the glass pipes. Therefore, glass pipes can be used to transport viscous materials or damp powders without worrying about material sticking to the wall.

3. Good sound insulation effect and low noise

    When transporting granular materials with steel pipes, there is a lot of noise, but using glass pipes can reduce the transportation noise.

4. Good transparency

    Glass tubes, due to their transparent material, can be used to observe the conveying status inside the pipeline during pneumatic conveying.

    However, glass tubes also have certain disadvantages, such as being prone to static electricity and difficult to remove. In addition, due to the physical properties of glass tubes, they are not resistant to impact and require additional protective devices to provide protection. These disadvantages also affect our use of glass tubes in pneumatic conveying. Moreover, the substitutability of glass pipes is too high. For example, for pipeline elbows that require wear resistance and corrosion resistance, we can also use ceramic elbows, which have high application advantages.
